TubeG Pro for YouTube App Reviews

Grateful that the developer continues to improve!

It doesn’t play video I want to see but another video. Besides, when I log in to the YouTube, it does not show my favorite video but show ‘error.’ It just sucks.

This is a great Youtube Toolbar app. The developer is always adding updates and perfecting the experience. It keeps getting better. Highly rcopmmended if you enjoy playing youtube videos right from your desktop. Very nice.

This app is so wonderful! A dedicated app! That does full screen and HD! I use it everyday and it gets great updates!

TubeG saves my place when I watch a lecture or documentary on YouTube, so that I can come back at any time and pick up where I left off. I used to try to watch longer YouTube videos in my web browser, but I would usually close the tab or the browser absent-mindedly, and lose my place. TubeG lets me keep a list of content I want to watch in a completely different app, so that closing the browser (or shutting down the computer) doesn’t make me lose my place. In addition to that great feature, it’s a really clean and easy to understand interface. I’ve added the TubeG component to my Google Chrome browser so that if I see something I want to watch later I can click the icon on the Chrome task bar and load the YouTube video in TubeG for saving. You can make your own playlists in TubeG to sort out the content you want to save for later. Being able to save your stopping place in the video really makes TubeG useful for watching classroom lectures, documentaries, speeches and movies on YouTube. This sets TubeG apart from every other YouTube app -- TubeG is by far the best app of its kind!

Update: I still love this app. I honetsly use it everyday however recently I have been having some minor but ultimately annoying problems. The developer is very active with maintaing the app and responds almost immediately to all emails but after sending a few bug reports I almost feel like I’m a bother. When it works great it’s a fantastic app that lets you watch/listen to YouTube videos while simultaneously getting out of your way. I’ve gotten around most of the problems by using the browser extension instead of interacting directly with the menu bar icon but it’s a frustrating work around. I still highly recommend this app though. It’s not for everyone, especially at this price. I’ve tried free alternatives and paid alternatives like MenuTab for Youtube (which for the record is broken, I haven’t gotten it to play any videos in weeks) and I find this to be the best yet, which is why I gladly paid for it. I watch a lot of Youtube videos. I like that this app allows the videos to float over all windows and that the windows themselves are easily resizable. It has a nice clean look and the Pro version allows searching Youtube right from the menubar and supports playlists. Every video I’ve tried so far has played and best of all I’ve yet to see any ads before the videos. Best of all the developer seems really dedicated to maiantaing the app. App discovery is really awful in the Mac App Store because the same old apps are always featured and if not for randomly stumbling across this app from another website I’d never have discovered it. I tried almost every YouTube app, and this one is the best of all. You can log into your YouTube account, select the newest videos of your subscribed accounts, set the size and position of the window, set the resolution, etc. This app works without any problems, and most importantly, there is no adds. Also, the customer service is great. The developer responded to my email within a few hours. Five Stars ++++
